Interdroid

Interconnecting Android Powered Mobile Devices

Welcome to Interdroid

Interconnecting Android Powered Mobile Devices

The name "Interdroid" is a conjunction of the prefix "inter-" which means between, among, mutual or reciprocally, and the word "droid" which refers to the Android platform on which our software is built.

Our research is aimed at building a platform for distributed applications on Android powered mobile devices which facilitates applications which can share information in new and interesting ways the convergence of networking technologies makes possible.

We believe that by giving application developers easy access to the combined power of multiple networking technologies, we will provide the keys to unlocking a wealth of new applications for smart phone hardware.

In furtherance of this goal we have built a number of novel distributed applications which has driven the development of the Interdroid Platform as well as demonstrate the possibilities with our system.

The Interdroid team consists of Henri Bal, Thilo Kielmann, Nick Palmer, and Roelof Kemp at the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam.

We have published a number of Papers Related to the Interdroid Project which we hope you will read (and cite) in your work

We have also collected Conferences and Journals related to our work which may be of interest to you. If you have additional venues of interest please let us know.
